Mezzo-Soprano

Rebecca completed a Masters of Music with distinction at the Royal Northern College of Music in 2021 before working as the President of the Students’ Union 21-22. She then completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Advanced Studies in Performing with distinction again at the RNCM.  

Recent opera credits have included Mary Ann The Boatswain’s Mate (Buxton International Festival); Lady Bertram Mansfield Park (RNCM Opera); Lapak The Cunning Little Vixen (RNCM Opera); Sœur Anne de la Croix Dialogues des Carmélites (RNCM Opera); Phyllis Iolanthe (Cat-like Tread at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe); Noémie Cendrillon (Fife Opera); and Mrs Grose The Turn of the Screw (Byre Opera). Rebecca was also part of the Young Artists’ Programme at Buxton International Festival in the summer of 2023 having previously been part of the Young Artists’ Programme at Waterperry Opera Festival in 2021. 

Rebecca has performed at the Wigmore Hall, the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, has worked with Opera North as a Leverhulme Arts Scholar, and in the 2022-23 season Rebecca was selected for the Opera North Chorus Mentor Scheme. Recently, she performed on BBC Look NorthWest evening news as part of the Buxton International Festival. Last year, she was awarded the Platinum Prize in the 2023 Saint-Saens International Music Competition and during her time as a student at the RNCM Rebecca was the recipient of the Emmanuel Prize, and a finalist for the Concerto Competition.

Rebecca is also an avid conductor and has worked with Siân Edwards at the Royal Academy of Music as part of the Sorrell Conducting Programme. She is also a Trustee for Pimlico Opera, and is an Associate Director for Buxton International Festival.
